The most common complaint with Hawthorne strainers is a loose coil. We set spring tension so the coil seats firmly inside a standard 28 oz tin without deforming, and the bowl fits the tin mouth without rocking. Coils are wound from the same 304 wire across the batch, so tension stays consistent.
