The defining feature is the flat muddler disk, sized to sit squarely on the bottom of a glass and press down with even, controlled force. Unlike a textured or toothed end that can shred leaves, a flat disk crushes mint and fruit cleanly, releasing aromatic oils without the bitter chlorophyll that comes from over-muddling.
